SharpLink Suffers $394M Q2 Loss Despite Ethereum Staking Gains
SharpLink, a publicly traded Ethereum treasury firm, reported a staggering $394.3 million net loss in Q2 despite generating $11.2 million in staking revenue from its ETH holdings.
The company's balance sheet took a hit due to paper declines in the value of its ETH assets, resulting in unrealized crypto losses of $321 million.
Impairments on liquid staking tokens LsETH and weETH added another $76.1 million to the loss, highlighting the risk of temporary dislocations in secondary markets.
SharpLink's total Q2 revenue reached $11.5 million, with most coming from ETH staking, but the staking rewards were overshadowed by the significant unrealized losses.
