Shelbit Accused of Facilitating Iran Sanctions Evasion via Illegal Gambling Network

A Reuters investigation has implicated Dubai-based cryptocurrency exchange Shelbit in helping to evade sanctions on Iran through its ties to an illegal gambling network.

According to the report, Shelbit, founded by an Iranian-born entrepreneur, served as a core financial conduit for the network, which spanned over 2,000 platforms and funneled hundreds of millions of dollars.

The exchange allegedly transferred this money to major exchanges, including Binance, with on-chain analysis revealing the transactions. However, Binance denied that Shelbit holds an account on its platform, stating that it had frozen any related accounts and reported them to law enforcement agencies.
