$SHIB Enters Japan's Elite List of Approved Cryptocurrencies
Shiba Inu ($SHIB) has made significant inroads into Japan's strict crypto market, becoming one of only six approved cryptocurrencies by local company Laser Digital Japan. This marks a major shift for $SHIB, which was previously viewed as just a meme token. The asset's inclusion on the 'Green List' of vetted tokens allowed it to be listed on Laser Digital Japan's platform.
The Japanese regulator, Financial Services Agency (FSA), approved the registration of Laser Digital Japan on August 21. This approval is significant, as it was the first new crypto exchange license issued by the FSA in four years. The strict compliance requirements in Tokyo make this a historic precedent for $SHIB.
The platform's listing lineup includes major heavyweights such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin. This institutional push builds on the retail adoption of $SHIB across Japan earlier this year, with e-commerce giant Rakuten opening token trading to its 44-million-user ecosystem in April.
