SHIB Legacy Link Cut Off, Creating 'Dead End' for Visitors
A long-time Shiba Inu community member and advisor to Shiba Eternity, Mazrael, has highlighted an issue affecting the SHIB project. A legacy domain link for Shibatoken.com was registered in August 2020, three days after SHIB launched. This link redirected users to the shib.io website until April 2026, when it was severed.
Mazrael stated that partners, listings, and directories pointed to this link because it correctly redirected to the SHIB ecosystem. However, since the redirect was cut off, these links now point to a takedown notice on the Shibatoken page, effectively creating a 'dead end' for anyone visiting from those sources.
According to Mazrael, someone with control deliberately chose to sever the link, cutting off traffic from Shib's own ecosystem. He urged the Shiba Inu community to review and update their SHIB-related links on exchanges, wallets, explorers, partners, and listing platforms.
