Shiba Inu Boosted by Japan's Revised Crypto Regulations

Japan's revised crypto regulations have boosted Shiba Inu's trading status, with the asset now included on the country's JVCEA Green List handled by nine exchanges. The new rules, implemented in July 2026, classify digital assets as financial instruments under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA), aligning them with stocks. This shift has paved the way for Shiba Inu exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to be launched in 2027.

Shiba Inu recently gained retail access via Mercari's app, further increasing its visibility and trading volume. However, no ETF has been filed or approved yet, as detailed rules and approvals are still pending.
