Shiba Inu Breaks Downtrend with Move Above 200-Day Moving Average
Shiba Inu has broken an 11-month downtrend by climbing above its 200-day moving average, according to a report from 디지털투데이. The move marks the first time this has happened in 2026.
The rebound is attributed to several factors. Firstly, Japan's Financial Services Agency granted a crypto service provider licence to Nomura-backed Laser Digital and included Shiba Inu among approved assets for institutional investors. This effectively gives Shiba Inu an official entry into Japan's regulated market.
Additionally, a large short squeeze in the futures market supported the rise, with $3.1 billion worth of short positions being liquidated to limit losses. This brought buying pressure into the spot market, contributing to the price increase.
