Shiba Inu Burn Rate Plummets to $33 as Community Awaits Rebound
Shiba Inu's burn rate has reversed sharply this week after recording one of its strongest performances in months.
The past 24 hours saw just 7.10 million SHIB worth approximately $33 destroyed, a significant slowdown from the billion-token burns recorded less than two weeks ago.
This decline follows intense burn activity at the end of July, with more than 1 billion SHIB destroyed on both July 26 and July 27, pushing Shiba Inu's monthly burn total above 3.2 billion SHIB in July, its highest monthly burn in several months.
Despite the slowdown, longer-term burn statistics remain strong, with the community having permanently removed 283.98 million SHIB over the past seven days and a 30-day burn total of 3.47 billion SHIB, largely driven by late-July activity.
The reduced burn rate has sparked mixed reactions across the Shiba Inu community, with some arguing that it could weaken SHIB's deflationary mechanism and limit price recovery if burn activity fails to rebound.
