Shiba Inu Developer Warns Users About Fake 'Official' Accounts
A warning has been issued to Shiba Inu (SHIB) users by Mazrael, a veteran of the project and advisor for Shiba Eternity. He alerted users to the rise in fake 'official' accounts claiming to represent legitimate channels. These impersonation scams are becoming increasingly common across crypto platforms, targeting users with false announcements and misleading information.
Mazrael emphasized that any new communication platforms will be announced exclusively through the official website, shib.io. He reminded users that there are currently no 'new' or 'official' Shiba Inu channels beyond what is already available on shib.io.
The warning comes as part of a broader trend across the cryptocurrency sector, where impersonation scams frequently target projects with large user bases. Attackers often create accounts that mimic developers, advisors, or official brands to promote fraudulent links or collect sensitive information.
