Shiba Inu Exchange Outflows Surge, But Inflows Outpace Withdrawals Amid Rising Reserve Balances
Shiba Inu's exchange outflows have increased significantly, but the token's inflows have risen even faster, according to data from CryptoQuant. The seven-day average SHIB outflow surged by 121.26% to around 579 million tokens, while exchange inflows jumped 182.3% to approximately 1.68 billion tokens.
This trend has left net inflows positive and reserve balances for SHIB at elevated levels, which some traders see as a warning sign about liquidity risks. However, CryptoQuant analysts noted that increased deposits do not necessarily indicate imminent selling, as users may transfer tokens for multiple reasons.
The current imbalance resulted in a positive net flow of 1.86 billion tokens across major exchanges, with buyers needing to absorb higher supply to sustain the latest price recovery. SHIB traded 1.14% higher within 24 hours and nearly 6% above weekly lows after rebounding from a thirty-day low near $0.00000488.
The $0.00000500 level has emerged as key short-term support, but market participants are monitoring whether this area holds, as a breakdown could open further downside if reserves remain large and inflows persist. Traders suggested that a slowdown in deposits may be necessary before a sustained uptrend can develop.
