Shiba Inu Exchange Reserve Nears Critical Threshold Amid Declining Token Supply
Shiba Inu's exchange reserve is nearing the critical 87 trillion SHIB threshold as more tokens leave crypto trading platforms. Over the past 24 hours, the cryptocurrency recorded a significant decline in its exchange reserve, with a negative exchange netflow of 244.99 billion tokens.
This means that nearly 245 billion more SHIB left exchanges than entered them during this timeframe, causing the amount held on exchanges to fall to approximately 87.0059 trillion SHIB, just 5.9 billion SHIB above the threshold.
While a declining exchange balance could potentially ease immediate selling pressure by reducing the number of tokens available for investors looking to sell, it's essential to note that this does not guarantee a price increase. Investors can still move tokens back to exchanges when market conditions change.
SHIB has struggled to stay below the 87 trillion SHIB mark before, but maintaining this level could prove more significant than briefly crossing it. If withdrawals continue to outpace deposits, the declining reserve may indicate that investors are keeping their SHIB away from trading platforms rather than preparing to sell.
