Shiba Inu Gains Ground Despite US ETF Delay
Shiba Inu is making progress towards its goal of being listed in a US spot ETF, but it still doesn't have one. Mazrael, a long-time member of the Shiba Inu community, said the cryptocurrency is 'well on track' despite this setback.
The T. Rowe Price's TKNZ (NYSE Arca) ETF was approved by the SEC in June 2026 and can hold several cryptocurrencies, including SHIB, but will not hold all of them at once. Under normal circumstances, the ETF plans to maintain between five and fifteen crypto assets at a time using an active management strategy.
SHIB is among the eligible assets named in the prospectus, along with eight other coins that were part of the ETF's initial launch: Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, XRP, Chainlink, Dogecoin, and Cardano. However, SHIB was not included in the initial lineup.
In other developments, Valour SHIB ETP has launched and is tradable in Europe, and Laser Digital Japan, the Japanese entity of Nomura's digital assets subsidiary, announced that it had completed its registration and was authorized to operate as a crypto asset exchange service provider under Japan's Payment Services Act.
Additionally, Coinbase introduced regulated crypto futures trading to eligible Canadian clients through its CFTC-registered futures arm. The offering includes 23 crypto futures contracts; among them is Shiba Inu (SHIB).
