Shiba Inu Price Jumps 0.7% as Ecosystem Growth and Burn Legacy Combine
Shiba Inu's price has been on the rise, up 0.7% over the last 24 hours to $0.00000521. The project, known as the 'Dogecoin killer' in its early days, was created by an anonymous developer and launched in August 2020.
The Shiba Inu ecosystem has grown to include a decentralized exchange called ShibaSwap and a layer-2 network named Shibarium built to support faster, cheaper transactions. Despite this growth, the project's supply floor still traces back to a transaction the team never controlled - a donation of half of the token's entire one-quadrillion supply to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in 2020.
Buterin later donated 50 trillion of those tokens to an India COVID relief fund and burned more than 410 trillion, worth roughly $6.7 billion at the time. This significant burn has had a lasting impact on SHIB's supply dynamics.
The Shiba Inu price chart has undergone significant changes in recent times, breaking out of a descending channel and forming an ascending channel on the 4-hour timeframe. With three structural breaks in a row, each one resolving to the upside, this is a bullish sign for the near term.
