Shiba Inu Price Surges on Strong Weekly Burn Ahead of Sixth Anniversary
Shiba Inu's price has seen an uptick following a strong weekly burn of nearly 3 billion SHIB tokens, according to community trackers. This is the strongest weekly burn in roughly one year and arrives as the token celebrates its sixth anniversary.
The reported 2.96 billion total marked a significant increase from previous weeks, with some large transfers moving more than 757 million tokens to inaccessible wallets. Despite this, the totals represent only a tiny share of SHIB's circulating supply, which stands at around 589.24 trillion tokens.
While burns can strengthen scarcity expectations and support sentiment indicators, they rarely create immediate price pressure alone. Buyers must also absorb exchange selling and support deeper spot liquidity for the Shiba Inu price to respond meaningfully.
