Shiba Inu Whales Flood Exchanges with 2 Quadrillion Tokens
More than 2 quadrillion Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens flooded centralized exchanges in under 24 hours, sparking debate among traders and on-chain analysts about whether this is a sign of imminent selling pressure or strategic accumulation.
A sharp exchange inflow spike for SHIB was recorded by tools such as CryptoQuant and IntoTheBlock. Within a single day, wallets identified as belonging to whales transferred massive quantities of tokens to major exchanges like Binance and Coinbase.
This type of behavior is often interpreted in two opposing ways: either as a precursor to a mass sell-off that would put downward pressure on the price or as part of a leveraged trading strategy where funds are moved onto platforms to take positions in derivatives without intending to sell on the spot market.
Analysis of source addresses revealed that several dormant wallets, inactive for weeks, were suddenly reactivated to initiate these transfers. This pattern is characteristic of players who accumulated SHIB at lower price levels and are now looking to reposition themselves in a more favorable market environment.
