Shiba Inu's Canine Mascot Becomes the Loyal Guard of East Asian Spirits
The Shiba Inu token's X account posted a witty message during the Hungry Ghost Festival, positioning its mascot as the ghosts' loyal guard dog.
The post referenced the traditional festival in East and Southeast Asia that honors deceased ancestors and feeds wandering spirits. The Shiba Inu mascot was shown sporting fangs, giving it a deadlier vibe than usual.
'Even ghosts need a guard dog. Fortunately, we know a guy,' the X account said.
The Ghost Festival runs from Aug. 13 to Sept. 10, and Aug. 27 marks the Hungry Ghost Festival's height of observance.
