Shibarium Burns Hundreds of Millions of SHIB Despite Activity Decline
The Shiba Inu community has been focused on the decline in Shibarium transaction activity, but Mazrael, a long-term SHIB proponent, emphasizes that the network continues to reduce SHIB's circulating supply.
Shibarium's fee-based SHIB-burning process remains active, burning hundreds of millions of SHIB over the past few weeks. According to Mazrael, the mechanism doesn't need to be noisy to still run.
Shibarium contributed to the burning of more than 50 billion SHIB during its early days, and the Shiba Inu team launched ShibTorch about a year later to automate the burning process. The burn portal facilitated billions of SHIB burns following its launch, but the community has had limited visibility into the mechanism's ongoing activity.
Shibariumscan is still recovering from an indexing issue after moving behind Cloudflare, which temporarily plunged the reported cumulative transaction count to 475 million. At the latest update, indexing has reached 48%, and the displayed transaction count has recovered to 517.16 million.
