Shibarium Debunked: Community Member Says Layer 2 Still Up and Running

A long-time Shiba Inu community member has pushed back against claims that Shibarium, the Shiba Inu layer 2, is no longer functioning. Mazrael, a veteran of the Shiba Inu community, stated that Shibarium remains operational despite concerns surrounding individual projects.

The comments from Mazrael come amid claims by former Shibarium-based project K9 Finance, whose developers shared a final update on its wind-down and sunset. The K9 Finance team claimed that since the Shibarium hack in September 2025, neither Shibarium nor its explorer has worked reliably, stating that the Shiba Inu layer 2 “is still not reliable to this day.”

Mazrael clarified that Shibarium isn’t ‘abandoned’, saying that there is infrastructure running, validators/archive infrastructure, and thousands of daily transactions and work on chain as well as environment migrations.
