Shibarium's Brief Spurt of Activity Reversed Amid Market Uncertainty
Shibarium, the layer 2 scaling solution for Shiba Inu, saw a significant spike in transaction count, but the activity was short-lived. According to Shibariumscan data, daily transactions rose from 738 on August 8 to 4,480 on August 9, a 507% increase.
This surge marked the highest transaction count in about a month for Shibarium. However, the trend has been noticed in recent months, with previous activity spikes also being quickly reversed.
On August 10, daily transactions fell to 831, returning to the baseline. Meanwhile, development on Shibarium continues behind the scenes, with Shiba Inu developers expanding developer documentation pages for key features like ERC-4337 gasless transactions and Crypto Payments API.
The market's unstable recovery trend mirrors the broader crypto market, which remains in a transitional recovery phase according to Glassnode. Despite improving institutional flows and stronger taker demand, spot liquidity and on-chain activity remain weak, indicating a tentative recovery.
