Shibariumscan Indexing Issue Causes False Panic Among Shiba Inu Holders
A recent issue on Shibariumscan caused widespread concern among Shiba Inu holders. The Shibarium blockchain explorer, which provides data on transactions, addresses, and blocks, appeared to show a sharp decline in network activity.
The numbers looked dire: transaction counts dropped from 1.56 billion to around 475.39 million (a 69.55% drop), address totals fell from approximately 269.93 million to about 71.3 million, and reported blocks declined from 18.47 million to roughly 7.91 million.
Mazrael, a Shiba Eternity advisor and Shibarium infrastructure expert, clarified the situation, stating that the explorer had returned online but was missing key components of its setup. He attributed the outage to an indexing and data synchronization problem on Shibariumscan, not any actual loss of blockchain data.
The issue arose from a technical problem with Shibariumscan's explorer infrastructure, which involved changes in hosting, DNS updates, and migration to Cloudflare proxying. The Shibarium domain itself remains healthy, with no indication of security issues or data loss.
