SimpleSwap Report Highlights Shift in Crypto Market Dynamics
SimpleSwap, a self-custodial multi-source swap aggregator, released its report for the first half of 2026. The report used a benchmark-first methodology, comparing public data with figures from SimpleSwap's platform.
The first half of 2026 saw a decline in spot trading volume on centralized exchanges and a decrease in total capitalization of the crypto market. However, the number of transactions decreased by only 18.5%, indicating that users were trading smaller amounts.
Three key observations emerged from the report: reaction to fear burns out, coverage is insurance rather than advertising, and moving beats swapping. According to Rick Cramer, Head of Analytics at SimpleSwap, stablecoin flows can be a sentiment indicator only during the first event of a cycle.
