Singapore Police Warn Cryptocurrency Users of Hacked Email Account Exploits

The Singapore police have issued a warning to cryptocurrency users after hackers exploited compromised email accounts to gain unauthorized access to linked crypto accounts.

A rise in cases involving unauthorised access to linked crypto accounts was reported since mid-August, prompting the authorities to investigate.

Police investigations found that several affected email accounts had previously appeared in data breaches on other platforms, potentially exposing users' login credentials.

The authorities warned that scammers may have exploited reused passwords from those breaches to gain access to victims' cryptocurrency accounts.
