Singapore Warns of Rise in Crypto Account Hacks via Compromised Email
The Singapore Police Force has issued a warning about a rise in unauthorized access to cryptocurrency accounts through compromised email accounts.
According to the SPF, there has been an increase in cases since mid-August where perpetrators used compromised email credentials to access victims' cryptocurrency accounts.
The police found that several affected email accounts had previously appeared in data breaches on other platforms, suggesting that the victims' credentials may have been exposed.
Scammers may use this information to gain access to cryptocurrency accounts if victims reused the same passwords across multiple online services.
