Slovenia Enters EU Stablecoin Landscape as Dinaro Earns MiCA Compliance
Dinaro d.o.o., an electronic money institution licensed by the Bank of Slovenia, has become the first issuer from Slovenia to be added to the EU's MiCA stablecoin register.
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) update in early August 2026 also included two new crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) on the register.
Dinaro has operated under an EMI license from the Bank of Slovenia since at least 2020, which provides a launchpad for MiCA compliance.
The registration allows Dinaro to issue stablecoins recognized as MiCA-compliant across all 27 EU member states.
