Smaller Crypto Stocks Outshine GameStop Amid Bitcoin Rally

The August rally of Bitcoin has lifted many crypto-linked equities, but one stock has seen its shares nearly double this month. Strive (ASST) outperformed the market, gaining over 95% in August so far, while other stocks like Bullish (BLSH), Twenty One Capital (XXI), and Circle (CRCL) rose around 40-50%. Meanwhile, GameStop (GME) has fallen more than 17% despite Bitcoin's surge.

The difference between Strive and GameStop comes down to how they structured their Bitcoin holdings. GameStop pledged nearly all of its 4,709 BTC as collateral for covered-call options sold to Coinbase Credit, limiting its direct exposure to further Bitcoin gains. In contrast, Strive continues to raise capital to expand its Bitcoin holdings.

Strategy (MSTR), the largest Bitcoin treasury with over 840,000 BTC on its balance sheet, gained around 36% in August. However, its retail sentiment dropped to 'bullish' from 'extremely bullish' territory over the past day, and chatter remains at 'high' levels.
