SoFi Stock Retreats Amid Record Growth and Crypto Momentum
SoFi Technologies Inc., trading under the ticker SOFI on the NASDAQ, saw its stock dip slightly on Friday morning. This comes after a notable 13% increase in the past month, driven by growing adoption of its products and favorable tailwinds in the crypto space.
The company has been emphasizing two key operational catalysts that are driving investor optimism: its revamped paid membership tier, SoFi Plus, which reached 206,000 paid subscribers following its second-quarter relaunch. Of these subscribers, 85% were existing members, with a quarter opting to add additional financial products after joining.
SoFi aims to hit 1 million members within the year, representing projected annual recurring revenue of $120 million. Sentiment is also buoyed by SoFi's expansion into digital asset settlement via its stablecoin, SoFiUSD, which reached approximately $300 million in circulation by the end of the second quarter.
The recent momentum builds on SoFi's strong second-quarter financial report, where the company delivered record net revenue of $1.21 billion (up 42.5% year-over-year) and adjusted EPS of 12 cents, surpassing Wall Street consensus estimates.
