SofiUSD Payments: Can SoFi Technologies Scale Fee-Based Revenues?

SoFi Technologies has made significant strides in its stablecoin strategy by transitioning from product launch to real-world payments. By the second quarter of 2026, SoFi began settling its trading business using SofiUSD, while Big Business Banking started processing transactions on the SoFi Exchange Network.

This move gives commercial clients the ability to make money transfers in real-time and 24/7 within a regulated banking environment. The SofiUSD stablecoin is backed by cash at the Federal Reserve, eliminating credit, liquidity, or duration risks.

The company views this strategy as a way to build faster and lower-cost payment rails. By combining it with Big Business Banking, commercial clients can hold funds in insured business deposit accounts, move fiat and digital assets through API-driven payments, and convert between them on one platform.
