Solana Aims to Unify Financial Sector Like Netflix Unified Movie Producers
Solana Foundation chief product officer Virbu Norby recently called Solana 'the Netflix of finance,' implying it could unify financial companies in one platform. This vision is based on how Netflix unified movie producers and Amazon brought online merchants together.
Norby believes Solana can process global, near-instant transactions by bringing financial assets on-chain. He claims that eventually every asset will become digital and tokenized on a blockchain, saying it's 'basically inevitable.' Currently, Solana secures about $50 billion in network assets.
While Solana's speed may attract more partners, Ethereum can counter with its scale. Financial giants like Mastercard and Visa are integrating stablecoins into their payment rails, making them a more practical choice for on-chain transactions than volatile tokens.
