Solana Blockchain Speeds Up with Latest Infrastructure Upgrade
The Solana blockchain has released an update focused on improving speed, reliability, and developer tools. The July 9 changelog reported new releases across various projects, including Agave, Firedancer, Superbank, Solana Go, and LiteSVM. These updates aim to make the ecosystem more stable, scalable, and easier to build upon.
Validator client work is a key area of progress. Agave has added Wincode serialization for banking stage snapshots, making it faster and more predictable. Firedancer has also optimized SigVerify, which deduplicates transactions and verifies signatures. This can help transactions enter blocks more quickly.
The update also includes improvements to RPC infrastructure, which provides access to on-chain data. Superbank and Cloudbreak have expanded RPC 2.0 coverage, allowing for better transaction planning and simulations. Developer tools such as LiteSVM now support testing program accounts and provide cleaner front-end tools.
