Solana Breakout Targets $100 as Derivatives Market Buys In

Solana's price has been consolidating within a symmetrical triangle for several weeks, but recent gains suggest it may be preparing to break out. SOL has climbed back above $76 and is now testing the triangle's descending resistance line, which could pave the way for a move toward the $100 region.

The derivatives market supports this breakout attempt, with open interest rising alongside the price recovery and funding rates turning positive. However, a key hurdle remains at the $77-$78 level, and a return below $74 would be a warning sign that fresh positions are building against the breakout.

If SOL can clear the immediate resistance zone of $84, it may set its sights on the larger $97.65-$100.11 area. Reaching $100 would represent around 30% upside from current levels, but this move is likely to require a sustained breakout rather than a brief spike.
