Solana Breaks Through Key Resistance, Outpaces Hyperliquid
Solana (SOL) has made a significant comeback in 2026, and its technical structure is giving it an edge over Hyperliquid. The cryptocurrency's price has surged from around $75 in August to about $104.65, representing a gain of around 45%.
This move took place after SOL broke through the 50-day and 100-day moving averages around $80.78 and $82.46, respectively. The current price is over 15% higher than the 200-day moving average, which Solana punched straight through on increasing volume rather than being rejected.
From a relative technical perspective, SOL has a stronger foundation than assets that stay stuck below their long-term trend resistance, such as Hyperliquid. However, there is an immediate issue: during the breakout, SOL experienced severe overbought conditions, with the daily RSI rising above 80 before falling to about 73.4.
The recent peak between $110 and $111 is the first immediate obstacle for Solana, and breaking it would allow SOL to compete in the $115-$120 range. A successful retest of the $90 area would bolster the claim that Solana has entered a true trend reversal and verify that previous long-term resistance has turned into support.
