Solana Breaks Year-Long Losing Streak as Whale Returns with Big Bet
Solana has finally closed its first green candle in nearly a year after months of red months. The SOLUSD token ended August on a high note, closing near $103, according to TradingView data circulating on X.
The prolonged streak of red months began after September 2025, when Solana's price plummeted from highs above $250 to a cycle low around $60 before the recent recovery.
August delivered strong performance for SOL, with its price advancing roughly 40-50% during the month and reclaiming the psychologically important $100 level. This is a notable shift after Solana spent much of the intervening period under heavy selling pressure.
In other news, a dormant Solana whale has returned to the market after eight months of inactivity, purchasing 76,856 SOL worth approximately $8 million from Hyperliquid. The wallet's large position adds to recent whale activity surrounding SOL, which could signal growing interest from deep-pocketed investors.
