Solana Co-Founder Slams AI Slowdown as 'Profitability at $1 Trillion MCap'
Solana blockchain co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has sparked controversy by linking the sudden agreement among AI industry leaders to slow down development of advanced neural networks to their desire for profitability at a $1 trillion market cap.
The decision, led by OpenAI's Sam Altman, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, and xAI's Elon Musk, has been met with skepticism from Yakovenko, who tweeted that 'profitability at $1 trillion mcap' was the true motivation behind the move.
He also pointed out the hypocrisy of AI labs lobbying for top-down regulation when they could simply halt their own work voluntarily if they genuinely believed in the safety risks associated with their new developments.
The Solana co-founder suggested that the real goal of this sudden concern for humanity was to eliminate startups and free open-source projects, creating an artificial duopoly dominated by OpenAI and Anthropic.
