Solana Defends $100 Level Amid Record-Breaking Activity
Solana's price has been holding steady around $101 for three consecutive days after reclaiming the $100 level in late August. The network processed a record-breaking $58 billion in decentralized exchange (DEX) volume over the past 30 days, surpassing Ethereum's $31 billion and BNB Chain's $22 billion.
This surge in activity has led to increased revenue for Solana, with on-chain revenue reaching $3.9 million in 24 hours, pricing the network at approximately 41.6 times annualized revenue. In comparison, Ethereum generated $422,492 in fees over the same window, which annualizes to about 1,905 times its market capitalization.
Despite this impressive activity and revenue generation, Solana's price remains 60% below its high of $253.21. The network's revenue is largely speculative, driven by memecoin trading, high-frequency arbitrage, and retail rotation, which can disappear when risk appetite turns.
The competitive position on activity has flipped in favor of Solana, with it capturing 58% of decentralized exchange volume against Ethereum plus its Layer 2 networks at 40%. This reversal is a genuinely new market structure, with Solana out-trading three of the largest regulated exchanges on the planet.
