A developer on the Solana blockchain has confessed to stealing nearly $500,000 in community funds from the Cypher Protocol, a cross-margin decentralized exchange. The funds were gambled away, and the developer admits to having a growing gambling habit.

The investigation began on the Cypher Protocol Discord server, where users noticed suspicious transactions. It was later found that a wallet associated with the developer had sent $314,674 in USDT, USDC, and Solana (SOL) to Binance. Additionally, this wallet amassed over $184,077 in ETH, USDT, USDC, and other tokens.

The developer, who goes by the pseudonym 'Hoak', publicly confessed on Twitter, stating that he took the funds and gambled them away. He acknowledges that his actions were wrong and apologizes for any harm caused.
