Solana Dominance Challenged as Robinhood Surpasses It in Daily DEX Volume
Robinhood has surpassed Solana in daily DEX volume for the first time, marking a significant shift in the decentralized exchange landscape. According to DeFiLlama data, Robinhood processed $1.45 billion in DEX volume on September 5th, compared with Solana's $1.25 billion.
This development puts pressure on Solana's dominance in DEX activity, and if this trend continues, it could face a serious challenge. In addition to the daily volume flip, Robinhood Chain has also crossed $3 billion in daily DEX volume for the first time, with nearly $880 million locked on the chain.
The growth of Robinhood is not limited to on-chain activity; its revenue has recently seen a record high of $6.8 million, making it the largest Ethereum L2 to date. Analysts are growing increasingly bullish on ETH as increased activity on Robinhood could see the value return to the Ethereum ecosystem.
The effect of Robinhood's on-chain activity is not limited to Solana's DEX volume; Pump.fun, one of the largest memecoin platforms on the Solana blockchain, saw its volume fall to $1.18 million from a peak of $3.16 million only eight days ago, with 53% of its application's volume now coming from Robinhood Chain.
