Solana ETF Inflows Plummet 97%, CME Funds Shift to Less Net Short
Solana's weekly ETF inflows fell by an astonishing 97% in the week ending September 4, while its CME funds became less net short. Despite this decline, Solana still managed to attract a small positive balance, with Bitcoin's allocation pace strengthening.
The contrast between Solana and other assets is striking. While Ethereum and Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $215.3 million and $986.7 million respectively, Solana's funds saw only $4.9 million in net inflows. The latter figure represents a significant decline from the previous week's $142.7 million.
Breaking down the data, we see that six Solana ETF products were tracked by Farside Investors. While three of them - BSOL, FSOL, and GSOL - recorded non-zero net flows during the latest week, the other three - VSOL, TSOL, and SOEZ - showed zero net flow on every session.
Looking at derivatives, CME's positioning report shows leveraged funds holding 1,069 long and 3,615 short futures-equivalent contracts in standard SOL as of September 1. This represents a net short position of 1,273,000 SOL, down from 2,166,500 SOL on August 25.
