Solana Expands Transaction Capacity with 4,096 Byte Upgrade
Solana, a popular blockchain network, is upgrading its transaction capacity to accommodate larger transactions. The upgrade will increase the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes, allowing for more complex transactions to be completed in one operation instead of several.
The change uses Transaction v1, which has been active on Solana's test and development networks since before the upgrade. This means that developers can continue using existing transaction formats unless they need the larger transaction limit across the network.
The increased capacity will enable transactions with large cryptographic proofs, multi-approval payments, and some confidential transfers to be processed in a single operation. However, this may require users to pay higher priority fees when competing for limited processing space.
