Solana Experiment Pushes Tokenization Boundaries with Fossil Asset
Jurassic Finance is pushing the boundaries of tokenization with an unconventional project on Solana. The company plans to raise $660,000 in USDC to acquire a museum-grade Triceratops skull called Deaton and create a holding structure around it. As of August 17 at 4:00 pm (UTC+8), nearly $300,000 was raised in the first 30 minutes, with over $365,499 collected so far, reaching 55% of the target.
Jurassic Finance CEO Aleksandar Pavlovic stated on X that the response exceeded expectations. The project will create a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for each fossil, holding the physical asset, and issue corresponding SPL tokens on Solana. For Deaton, the token code $TRCH1 will be used, allowing more participants to share in the economic benefits of this high-value collectible.
The Triceratops skull was excavated from the Hell Creek Formation in Slope County, North Dakota, and is estimated to be 66 million years old. The museum will handle exhibition, storage, insurance, and maintenance, while token holders will gain corresponding economic exposure.
