Solana Fee Generation Hits Record High Amid Disinflation Fears
Solana's fee generation has reached a record high as validators prepare for lower inflation rewards. According to data from The Block, the seven-day average fee generation approached 9,200 SOL per day on August 27, which is roughly $950,000 at current prices.
This increase in fees came with heavier use rather than just price alone. Non-vote transactions reached a record 191 million over seven days, up from 88 million a year earlier. Jito tips averaged another 2,073 SOL per day, rising 26% in one week.
However, it's essential to note that these figures do not establish a permanent revenue floor for validators. The network's daily revenue can cool quickly, and the disinflation policy is expected to reduce predictable staking income.
