Solana Fees Soar as Validators Face Reduced Incomes
Solana's transaction fees have reached an all-time high, with validators generating nearly 9,200 SOL in fees over a seven-day period. This represents an increase of over 80% compared to three months ago.
The number of non-vote transactions on the Solana network has also set a record high, with 191 million transactions processed over a seven-day basis, a significant jump from just 88 million a year earlier.
Jito validator tips averaged 2,073 SOL per day over the past week, up 26% week over week. This indicates increased on-chain activity and validates the rising transaction fees.
The Solana community has approved a proposal to double the annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%, which will reduce the projected issuance of new SOL tokens by approximately 18.9 million over six years.
