Solana Firedancer Client Launch Triggers 5% SOL Rally
Solana's mainnet has seen a notable uptick in performance following the launch of Firedancer, a validator client developed by Jump Crypto. The project has been in controlled testing for over 100 days and has shown promising results, with test environments handling over 1 million transactions per second.
The transition from testing to active validation on the live network triggered a 5% rally that pushed SOL toward $140. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko referred to this milestone as an exit from the network's extended beta period.
Firedancer uses C and C++ to handle heavy transaction loads, reducing the risk of network downtime. While adoption remains limited, with Firedancer nodes controlling less than 1% of total staked SOL, more than 20% of validators have switched from earlier experimental clients in December.
