Solana Foundation Chair: Tokenization Enters Super Cycle
Lily Liu, chair of the Solana Foundation, says tokenization has entered a 'super cycle.'
Tokenization goes beyond simply moving existing assets onto a blockchain, according to Liu. It changes how assets are issued, held, financed and traded.
Liu points out that stablecoins have demonstrated potential in moving global capital on-chain. This trend is being reinforced by financial institutions' tokenization of real-world assets, improvements in blockchain speed and costs, and the addition of artificial intelligence agents.
If this momentum continues, Liu believes most assets with clearly verifiable ownership will be tokenized. Broader adoption of tokenization technology could also lower barriers to entry tied to geography and investment size.
