Solana Foundation Support Sparks Controversy in Perps Exchange Market
Solana's perps exchange market is in turmoil as Flash.Trade founder Anas Khader shut down his platform, citing the Solana Foundation's support for rival Phoenix.
Khader claimed that the Foundation's backing of Phoenix contributed to his decision to wind down Flash.Trade. He also mentioned team misalignment and exhaustion from running a bootstrapped exchange as reasons for the shutdown.
However, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu argued that the market decides who wins, not the Foundation. She emphasized the importance of an 'open meritocracy' where competition is encouraged and the market decides the outcome.
Liu pointed out that the Solana Foundation has been supporting various teams through its public perps program and Frontier Traders initiative, which shows its commitment to fostering competition in the ecosystem.
