Solana Gains Direct Access to 500,000 MoneyGram Cash Counters
Solana has gained direct access to MoneyGram's vast network of cash counters, totaling almost 500,000 locations. This milestone marks a significant expansion for Ramps, which was previously only available on Stellar.
The integration with Solana allows wallets and exchanges to connect USDC directly to MoneyGram's physical cash network using a single API integration. According to Amira Valliani, head of payments growth at the Solana Foundation, 'MoneyGram has 500,000 locations all over the world, one of the biggest networks for people moving money across borders.'
Rift is the first Solana wallet to take advantage of this new integration, enabling its users to deposit cash into local currency. The API's reach spans over 170 countries and territories, with identity verification, compliance, and stablecoin settlement automated on behalf of developers.
The collaboration aims to build a truly open, global payments network, as stated by Anthony Soohoo, chairman and CEO of MoneyGram: 'The future of payments is built on access. Every platform we connect expands the reach of our network.'
