Solana Governance Vote Concludes: Two Proposals Pass
Solana's governance vote has ended, and two of the three proposals have been passed. The first proposal is the Solana Constitution, which outlines principles and procedures for decision-making at a network level. This constitution will serve as a framework for governing the Solana network.
The second proposal, Double Disinflation, aims to accelerate the pace at which new SOL tokens are issued. Currently, the rate of new token issuance is designed to decrease over time, eventually reaching an annual inflation rate of 1.5%. The Double Disinflation proposal increases the disinflation rate from 15% to 30%, effectively doubling the current pace of new token issuance reduction.
However, the third proposal, Resource and Inclusion Fee, which aimed to change the way transaction fees are calculated on the Solana network, was rejected. This proposal would have introduced a fixed basic inclusion fee and a variable resource-based fee, with all revenue from resource-based fees being burned.
