Solana Governance Votes Open for Epochs 1021-1023
Solana's validators and stakers are participating in their first on-chain votes under the network's new governance system, which could reshape how Solana is run and its native token, SOL, is issued and burned. The voting period opened at epoch 1021 and will close at the end of epoch 1023.
Three proposals have been put forward: SGP-0001 seeks to ratify the Solana Constitution, which would formalize network rules through a canonical source of truth for decision-making; SGP-0002 aims to accelerate disinflation by doubling the annual rate from 15% to 30% in early 2029; and SGP-0003 introduces staged fee burns, with a fixed base inclusion fee and a separate resource fee calculated based on transaction requests.
The outcome of these ballots will test both the technical machinery of Solana's new stake-weighted governance and the community's appetite for tighter monetary policy. The proposals have cleared a 15% stake-support threshold, undergone a seven-epoch review period, and are now open to voting from validators and stakers.
