Solana has partnered with KSNET, a major South Korean fintech company, to integrate blockchain-based payments across its network of over 330,000 merchants. This collaboration will explore the use of Solana's payment infrastructure within KSNET's existing merchant systems, maintaining compatibility with South Korea's established financial framework.

KSNET processes nearly $4 billion in monthly transaction volume and operates a large payment and settlement network. The partnership aims to evaluate the technical and commercial potential of blockchain-powered payments through two proof-of-concept projects.

The first project will test whether Solana Pay can operate within conventional payment environments without disrupting existing merchant systems. The second project will assess how the x402 protocol can support AI-assisted payment functions within KSNET's internally tested AI payment network.
