Solana Mainnet Activates Transaction V1 with 3.3x Larger Transactions
Solana's mainnet has activated Transaction V1, significantly increasing the maximum transaction size to 4,096 bytes from its previous limit of 1,232 bytes. This 3.3-fold expansion enables more complex operations like zero-knowledge proofs and large multisig wallets to execute atomically in a single transaction.
The upgrade allows for confidential transfers and reduces risks of partial execution failures in complex transactions. However, it is an opt-in feature for users, requiring infrastructure providers to update their systems to support the new format.
This enhancement improves DeFi protocols by addressing potential issues that may arise from complex transactions.
