Solana Mainnet Hits 30 Months of Uninterrupted Operation
Solana's mainnet has reached an impressive milestone, maintaining 100% uptime for 30 consecutive months. This achievement would have been considered science fiction just a few years ago. The last full cluster-level outage occurred on February 6, 2024, when a bug knocked the network offline for about five hours.
Since then, Solana has processed over 913 days of uninterrupted block production. In fact, official status reports confirm that June, July, and August 2026 had perfect uptime, with the network handling high transaction volumes without any consensus failures or halts.
The turnaround didn't happen by accident. It came from a comprehensive protocol overhaul that touched nearly every layer of the stack. Three upgrades stand out as particularly consequential: the deployment of Firedancer, a second independent validator client; a reworked fee market with a priority fee structure; and enhancements to the QUIC protocol.
However, it's worth noting that cluster-level uptime and individual validator health are two different things. While the network as a whole has maintained perfect uptime, individual validators have reported issues. In one 30-day span, up to 32 delinquencies were logged from specific nodes.
