Solana Network Achieves 30 Months of Uninterrupted Operations
Solana's mainnet has achieved an impressive milestone by maintaining 30 months of uninterrupted network operations, making it a game-changer for investors. This remarkable achievement is especially significant considering the challenges Solana faced in 2022.
The last major outage occurred on February 6, 2024, when a bug led to a five-hour network shutdown. Since then, the network has enjoyed around 913 days of uninterrupted block production, showcasing its resilience and robustness.
A comprehensive overhaul across multiple protocol layers contributed to this success, with three major upgrades playing pivotal roles: the introduction of Firedancer, a newly structured fee market, and improvements to the QUIC protocol.
